Kegel Exerciser

A Kegel exerciser is a device or tool designed to help strengthen the pelvic floor muscles—the muscles that support the bladder, uterus (in people with a uterus), and bowel. These exercises are beneficial for both women and men, but they’re most commonly associated with postpartum recovery, bladder control, and sexual health.

Types of Kegel Exercisers:

  1. Manual Devices:

    • Ben Wa balls / Kegel balls – Small weighted balls inserted into the vagina to stimulate muscle engagement.

    • Resistance-based tools – Devices that provide physical resistance when you squeeze.

  2. Electronic or Smart Devices:

    • Biofeedback tools – Measure your muscle contractions and give real-time feedback via a smartphone app.

    • Vibrating devices – Some vibrate in response to muscle engagement or offer guided workouts.

  3. App-Connected Devices:

    • These come with interactive training programs, games, or progress tracking via an app.

Benefits of Using a Kegel Exerciser:

  • Improved bladder control (reduces leaks and urgency)

  • Enhanced sexual pleasure and sensitivity

  • Strengthened core and pelvic stability

  • Postnatal recovery support

  • Helpful for men with prostate issues or urinary incontinence

How to Use:

  1. Insert (if using an internal device) or place as instructed.

  2. Follow guided contractions—typically hold for 5 seconds, relax for 5 seconds.

  3. Do about 3 sets of 10 reps daily.

  4. Stay consistent for best results (4–6 weeks to start seeing improvements).
